1st Workshop on landslide physical and numerical modeling

Introduction

Chair of geotechnics at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Rijeka is organising one day workshop on “Landslide Modelling & Application” with the focus on small scale physical modelling in 1g conditions. The workshop is organised as a part of an ongoing research which is supported by Croatian Science Foundation under the Project IP-2018-01-1503 Physical modelling of landslide remediation constructions behaviour under static and seismic actions (ModLandRemSS).

Aim

The aim of the workshop is to bring together leading researchers and scientists to discuss new developments in the field of 1g physical modelling of landslides as well as the application numerical and constitutive modelling.

Who should attend?

Geotechnical researchers, scientist and consultants working in the field of slope stability and landslide mitigation. Postgraduates and PhD students are most welcome to attend and participate.

The participation to the workshop is limited to 20 attendances.

Workshop participation fee

The participation fee must be paid BEFORE the workshop starts.

Information about the participation fee will be published shortly.

The program

Workshop will be held as a part of a 5th Regional Symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic-Balkan Region, 23rd of March 2022 from 12.00 to 17.00. The workshop consists of three parts:

  • Physical modelling of landslides: application of advanced measuring equipment
  • Numerical modelling of landslides: application of advanced numerical methods
  • Live example of small-scale landslide model @ 1g in the Geotechnical laboratory at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of RijekaMore detailed workshop program will be defined later this month.
